Helping You Understand How Celebrate Recovery Works
Through
THE THREE DOORS

*Doors 1 and 2 happen on Saturday nights. Door 3 happens on another night of the week...TBA)

Door 1: The Large Group Meeting /files/Pictures/Partnership for Hope/door-2m.jpg

The Large Group Meeting is our "Recovery Service." It has many different components which we will list here:
Worship - Celebrate Recovery is fully committed to the fact
that it is only through Jesus Christ we will recover. Worship
is an important part as we focus our
attention and hearts on
the character of God and the need for our hearts to be
     surrendered to Him.
Testimony or Teaching - Each week alternates between a
testimony or teaching. Testimonies are given to encourage
everyone in their recovery. Teachings center around the steps of recovery and are
based upon a biblical understanding of recovery.
Reading of the Steps - We believe that our recovery comes from following the
steps with Christ's help. Each week the steps are read to keep our attention
focused on what we must do in order to recover.

Generally, the Large Group Meeting is about an hour long.

Open share groups directly follow the Large Group Meetings. They are an opportunity for people attending Celebrate Recovery to take what they've just heard in the teaching or testimony and talk about it/apply it with a small group of like-minded people. Open share groups are just that - they are places to share openly about moving forward in your recovery. Each group is led by a trained leader. The groups are guided by firm guidelines (Small Group Guidelines) keeping everyone on track.
Each Group is
Gender Specific and Recovery Issue Specific

They are not opportunities to counsel or to be counseled. One of the bedrock beliefs of Celebrate Recovery is that it is YOUR recovery!

Door #3: Step Study Groups/files/Pictures/Partnership for Hope/480px-Chaco_Canyon_Pueblo_Bonito_doorways_NPS.jpg
Step study groups are an opportunity where you join with a small group of people (these groups are gender specific but not necessarily issue specific) to deliberately work through each step. Each participant receives workbooks that ask detailed and probing questions that help the participant discover and address their hurts, hang-ups, and habits. The meeting is designed to allow each participant a chance to share their recovery with the members of the group. They are not opportunities to give or receive counseling, but they are opportunities to share and also to learn from others. It is amazing what you learn about your own recovery just by listening to someone else's recovery journey!

Step Study Groups are also guided by the Small Group Guidelines
